By public transport:Northern Line (City Branch): Angel. 10-15 mins walk or hop onto a passing 19, 38, or 341 bus. Turn left out of the tube station, keep straight at the lights down St John's Street, turn off right, down Rosebery Avenue (signed to Sadlers Wells, which you will pass); the Town Hall is another 5 mins walk on the left of the road. The bus stop (UD) is right outside it. Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan, Circle Lines, Thameslink: Farringdon. 10 mins walk or hop onto a passing 63 bus (if you are lucky). Turn right out of the tube station, then right up Farringdon Road until the Mount Pleasant PO sorting office (the bus stops there). Cross Exmouth Market and take the half right up Rosebery Avenue. Finsbury Town Hall is on the right, a couple of blocks on. Central Line: Chancery Lane. 15 mins walk. Walk up Grays Inn Road until it crosses Theobalds Road and Clerkenwell Road. Turn right and cross Clerkenwell Road and take the half right up Rosebery Avenue. Carry on for another 5 minutes, crossing Farringdon Road. Finsbury Town Hall is on the right, a couple of blocks on. Victoria, Piccadilly Lines: Kings Cross St Pancras. 15 mins walk or wait for a 63 bus. Follow signs to the Thameslink station, and take Kings Cross Road to the left as you face it (or right as you turn out of it). Jink right to stay on it, crossing Pentonville Road (or the adventurous could try going to the Travelodge in Percy Circus, on to Lloyds Square and seeing if there's an alley through to the roads that lead to Margery Street and then Amwell Street, which leads directly down to the Town Hall on the opposite side of Rosebery Avenue). Turn left up Rosebery Avenue (or take an optional shortish-cut through Margery Street and then Amwell Street). Finsbury Town Hall is on the right, a couple of blocks on. Bus routes: 63, 19, 38, or 341 buses pass very close by. The 153 stops on St John's Street, by Myddleton Road, a short walk away. Finsbury Town Hall For some reason the official post-code for the Town Hall is marked on maps as a couple of blocks down the road from the hall's actual location. If you need a post-code, EC1R 1UW gives a much closer result. |
